Poppa Paul Smith dreamed of starting a pet business since he used to collect animals as a child growing up in Liverpool. However, life got in the way and he ended up working as a bank manager, in insurance and even worked in the matchday control room at at Anfield. 

A move to Dublin inspired him to follow his passion, and so Poppa Paul Petcare was born. After a shaky start he discovered a formula for successfully promoting his business using paper and ink, charity events and even got a regular gig on the radio as a pet expert.
